Day of Service
~ January 18 ~
Classes may not have started until January 19th, but that doesn't mean the18th was a day off for SU students!

MLK Day gave students the chance to be involved in service all day long. Shenandoah University and the Center for Public Service and Scholarship organized several volunteer events for the day of service including a meal packaging event called Stop Hunger Now.

Did you serve the community on MLK Day? Let us know about your acts of service by emailing Danielle LaBar at
"Veneration" Veterans Day Presentation - November 11, 2015
"Veneration" was an incredible expression of the voices of our veterans.  It successfully served as an ode to the men and women who serve our country who had not previously been able to put into words the demons they have fought in the past and continue to struggle with, to this day.  The performance was also a superb demonstration of the talent abounding from our Conservatory.  There were wonderful collaborations between the music, spoken word, and dance.  It became apparent that this production was a valiant representation of Shenandoah University by crossing between our Conservatory and Life Sciences.
Following the performance, Kirsten opened up the forum for questions and the Dean of the Nursing School talked about the Veteran to BSN program, which was started three years ago.  Veterans in the audience also took this opportunity to express their gratitude to the performers for using their craft to bring these writings to life, and making their memories real to individuals who had not previously been able to connect with the trauma of war.
Bravo to the actors, singers, dancer, and most of all, our board member Kirsten Trump.
