Old Town Welcome Center Concierge
The Old Town Winchester Welcome Center is looking for enthusiastic and engaging members of the community to volunteer as Welcome Center Concierges. As a Concierge, volunteers will have the opportunity to welcome visitors to downtown Winchester and provide information to help create a memorable experience, to assist community members in learning about upcoming events and getting engaged in Old Town, and to support the overall mission of the City of Winchester's local government.
Interested? Contact Downtown Manager Jennifer Bell at (540) 535-3660 or by email at Jennifer.bell@winchesterva.gov
The Office of Spiritual Life at Shenandoah University will be hosting a fundraising event benefiting the Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter (WATTS) on November 11. WATTS is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides a safe, temporary, overnight, cold-weather shelter for homeless guests in Winchester and Frederick County, Virginia.

Leading up to the event students, faculty, staff, and community members collect donations and based on the amount are given supplies to help them brave the cold as they sleep out on the quad. Participation in the sleep-out is encouraged but not required in order to participate in collecting donations.

For more information contact the Office of Spiritual Life at spirituallife@su.edu

Shenandoah Votes

Shenandoah Votes (previously UVote) helps students learn about the process of voter registration and become more informed about their role in the voting process.  The UVote model meets students where they are, making the registration process simple, consistent, and streamlined, and offering continued support for students navigating the voting process.

Shenandoah Votes is always looking for volunteers to help with voter registration in the future!  If you are interested in helping, contact Taylor Burke at tburke15@su.edu and check out our Vote website for more information.
