Summer is in full swing at the Quantum Sails Rochester Loft and the sewing machines are running all day!
We want to make sure you’re taking full advantage of everything our loft has to offer. We offer a number of underutilized services, including dialing in your luff curve for peak performance and on the water coaching. Check out this great article with tips on how to get the most out of your sailmaker.

We also do canvas work! Our canvas department, headed up by Will Johnston, is humming along and turning out big projects every week. Marsha Wait is back lending Will an expert hand. Be sure to contact us with any of your canvas needs.

Kris, Doug, and Travis are buzzing around all along the south shore of Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes at different club races and regatta’s, measuring boats, dropping off sails, etc. Let us know what we can do to help your sailing program.
It’s not too late to get a great new sail for summer sailing, delivery right now is about 3-4 weeks out, but many one-design sails are in stock and ready to go!

Quantum Sails Rochester

You just purchased a new set of sails or had a complete service done to your existing sails, but what happens after the sails are on the boat? We take pride in the services we offer and, you may discover, that goes way beyond sail inspections, repairs, and building state-of-the-art sails. Read more...
We have had a lot of great help this season including John Lawless, a local college sailor at New York Maritime College. John has been learning the ropes at the loft for a few weeks and will join his shipmates for his summer sea term on the training ship “Empire State VI” in the Mediterranean.
Justin Hays is also back in action as our Western New York representative, servicing the Youngstown and Buffalo area sailors. Justin brings a wealth of knowledge to our customers with his experience as a sailing coach, dinghy sailor, and offshore sailor. You can contact Justin at

Big Year for Lake Ontario Racing

In addition to a full race calendar that we always enjoy here on Lake Ontario, filled with annual regattas and regularly scheduled distance and course races, 2016 is the year of the major event. Lake Ontario will host the J/24 North American Championships at Port Credit, the J/80 North American Championships in Toronto and the Lightning North American Championships in Rochester, the IRC North Americans and the J/22 Worlds in Kingston, the Canada's Cup in Toronto. Next year is also lining up to be a great season with the 2017 J/22 North American Championships in Buffalo and J/88 North American Championship in Youngstown. Very cool to have all of these events on local waters!
