Hi <<First Name>>,

Spring!
24 in x 30 in Oil on Canvas - 2018
An invented seascape drawn from several images of Casco Bay. Really, an expression of the human condition. We all out there alone, in essence, in the midst of the eternity around us. There's dawn. There's the Number 12 Nun, and it's red, right, returning. Sweet to have a guide...

"above that ceiling of mist,

in this blue world, the sun is always out."

"There’s more poetic muscle, more colour and image in one line of Beckett’s blank verse than there is in an entire poem in a typical supplement of today." Alan Morrison The Recusant, 2017

"A ghost-woman’s ruminations on the joys & injustices of her life fly through her memory:" –Alexandra Yurkovsky, poet, critic, author of Wanting

"airspeed down, foot the right rudder, holding
against the torque, I jump it up, heels, oh!
in the air, on the cloud’s bare back, riding,
rain slanting into the archipelago below,
on the landlubbers, under the gray sky, who
don’t remember: above that ceiling of mist,
in this blue world, the sun is always out."

Squirt
9 in x 11 in - Oil on Panel - 2016
My friend Cee Bearden lost her parrot friend of many years. I was touched after my experience with Mary Giftos and her loss of her "little bird" (which I painted), I couldn't resist sending this gift to Cee. (She loved it!)

"Look what I made in wood shop!" for my step daughter Anna:
(see the slideshow of its construction)

Upcoming Show (next Feb - let's not think about that now...)

"My hair is combed by wind, and my skin sun-
freckled; I go for the simple, clothes
that last, in grace: I design long-line
plain get-ups, not for the stay-at-home,
but the woman in motion. I go around in
pants, like nobody, ha! I’m a man woman:
I might put on overalls and carry roses,
and I’m a pilot with a string of pearls."

Larry Beckett, from Amelia Earhart

Stephen
