Cities around the world are grappling with multiple crises such as conflicts, natural hazards, climate change, and COVID-19. In response, they are establishing new systems and projects, such as climate-smart investments and resilient infrastructure. The Urban, Disaster Risk Reduction, Resilience, and Land Global Practice of the World Bank (GPURL), through the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), will hold an international symposium on urban crises in Hiroshima, Japan.
The symposium will center on lessons from Hiroshima's recovery, crisis response in other Japanese cities, and explore how cities in the ECA region can leverage those lessons.
