Silver Hues: Building Age-Ready Cities, a recently published global report on age-ready cities, and a dedicated background paper on Japan had a regional launch in Tokyo, on May 30.
Joined by The Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Vice Mayor of Fukuoka City and Deputy Director-General of Japan’s National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (IPSS), the discussion highlighted Japan's experiences on healthy aging, infrastructure renewal, universal design, and climate-smart inclusive public transport.

Gap Fund Shares Perspectives on Climate Finance at I4C Conference
The Gap Fund gave a presentation at the I4C Conference Workshop "Mobilizing Climate Finance for Cities Workshop" titled: Integrating City Level Climate Plans, Urban Development Plans, National Determined Contributions, and Long Term Climate Strategies (May 26).
The session discussed the critical role of national governments in supporting national and city-level climate policy alignment to reinforce action and provide finance. (Session recording @38:00; registration required).

The Tokyo Development Learning Center, in collaboration with the Inclusive Cities Knowledge Silo Breaker, organized a virtual Technical Deep Dive (TDD) on Inclusive Cities and Jobs, from May 23-27. Engaging more than 60 country delegations from Brazil, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Uganda, the TDD focused on one of the most critical questions that city governments are grappling with: how to build competitive cities and facilitate local economic development that creates jobs, particularly for the poor and marginalized.
