Seasons go round and round

A note from Ellen

When the greenhouse closed for the season last November, I was overwhelmed with a mix of emotions. On one hand, it was a joyful season of growth and community for KIND, and I felt honoured to be a part of each student's journey. I was looking forward to doing exactly what I encourage each student to do: slow down, relax, process, and just be.
On the other hand, I struggled with the sudden jolt from busyness to a near stand still in my life. I am a person who likes to do. I like to make things happen and accomplish goals.
I knew that these feelings of needing to be busy didn't align with my personal pillars, or KIND's, because I created a business centred around immersing people in nature, where they can witness the natural seasons and crops change slowly. To me, the seasons represent a time and a place for everything; they represent arising and disappearing, life and death, and change.
When confiding in my uncle, he said to me in a light hearted voice: "Ellen, when I first started this farm, I was a bit antsy about the down seasons too, but my father told me that winters were for puttering around the shop, sharpening knives and fixing things." The simplicity made me smile and reminded me of my truth. I believe in slowing down and taking the time to relax, to rest and be, but even more importantly in scrapping the to do list and allowing life to surprise you with adventure and curiosity. That's when all the exciting ideas and creativity come to you.
Our next season is peeking just around the corner and I have used this winter to rest and be still, but also to dream and get excited, and I have so much more to give back to YOU. I can't wait to see each of you on our magical farm soon! Check out some exciting things to look forward to below.

"To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring."

Wildflower power

Ellen and Farmer Graeme Reesor are starting a U-PICK Wildflower garden outside the KIND greenhouse.

This season we'll be opening a 4th side of the studio so you can enjoy yoga with a 360 view of the vibrant flowers surrounding the sacred space. You'll be able to enjoy yoga followed by prancing around in the garden, arranging bouquets and making flower crowns.
Get ready to release your inner flower child!

Global Ambassador!

Ellen has been selected to attend the lululemon Global Ambassador Summit in Vancouver/Whistler in April! This is one of the most remarkable opportunities as a lululemon ambassador. There are only 14 ambassadors selected from across Canada and Ellen is one of them. She will be joining a group of inspiring humans from all over the world to experience what lululemon truly does best - learn, grow, collaborate, develop and have so much FUN!

She hopes to share everything she learns with the community at KIND, and use it as an opportunity to enhance your experience at KIND.
