Hi <<First Name>>,

Can you believe it's the official start to football season?! We hope your team won and that your favorite player scored a touchdown! Team Olivia’s is busy this time of year kicking extra points through the work of the Olivia's Organics Children’s Foundation. In fact, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Olivia’s products goes to support local charitable organizations.

We're always looking for a cause in our community or in yours, and this weekend, we’re tackling a few meaningful events in the Boston area! If you live close, get off the sideline, stop by and say hello. You’ll get the skinny on a couple of great causes and enjoy some scrumptious Olivia's samples as well! And if you can’t attend in person, join us in spirit and find a way to give back on your local field of play. Without further ado, check out our weekend-starting line-up!

Our Big Weekend All-Star Lineup

The Kickoff: On Saturday, September 17th, start the weekend off right with a visit to the Taste of WGBH Food and Wine Festival! You’ll find the Olivia’s team hanging out with some of our award-winning chefs who we think of as our MVPs. Hosted by WGBH, this fantastic day supports the PBS member station’s mission to make “the creative life of the arts, sciences, and humanities available to the widest possible public.”
Half Time: On Sunday, come see us at the Boston Local Food Festival, an annual event that supports companies with a focus on sustainable food! The event is organized by the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts, a local non-profit organization dedicated to building a local economy that is green and fair. Come by our booth, and you’ll have a chance to win a beautiful salad bowl filled with the best kitchen treats and a year’s worth of free Olivia’s products!
The Final Play: Stay in the giving back formation and keep the weekend energy pumping into Monday with a visit to Taste of Chelsea! This event offers visitors a chance to sample a variety of foods from local companies. The day is organized by HarborCOV, an organization focused on providing free safety and support services to people affected by violence and abuse. And you know we’ll be there with our flavorful salad sampling station!

Our participation in all of this weekend's events have been organized by one of Olivia's all-star MVPs. Want to meet him? We're thrilled to turn to Olivia’s Open Mic spotlight onto our sales and giving quarterback, Mark Pins!

Why Volunteering Feels Like a Touchdown: "Working with the Olivia’s Foundation helps remind me how lucky I am. If you’re in a funk, try spending a couple hours volunteering at a homeless shelter. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel."
First Pass at Volunteering: "Thanksgiving break during college. A friend asked if I wanted to join him at a soup kitchen in Boston. I thought about just staying home and watching football but decided to go at the last minute. I’m so glad I did – it was eye-opening, to say the least."
On the Olivia's Foundation as a Winning Formation: "As employees, we get to see firsthand the impact that it has on those in need. It makes us thankful to have what we have. It makes us more charitable in our private lives. It makes us better people."
The Secret to a Successful Giving Back Game Plan: "Find something that you’re passionate about. Whether it's children, the environment, animals, or something else, there’s probably a charity that supports it. Start by making a small donation. Even if it’s $1, every bit helps!"

What are some of the ways you and your family give back? Has volunteering opened your eyes to something? We want to know! Share your favorite charitable activities and photos with us at teamolivias@oliviasorganics.org, and you just might find yourself on the roster in an upcoming Olivia’s Open Mic!

Thank you for supporting Olivia's!

Until next week,
