We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, soaking in the passing summer rays and enjoying good food and precious time with the important people around you.

Now it’s back to reality! It’s always an adjustment returning to “real life” after a long weekend, isn’t it? When your workweek is packed from beginning to end with endless meetings and pressing deadlines, at least you can look forward to lunch. But be careful! Your mid-day sanctuary can easily become a leftover conference room bagel or a crushed granola bar from the bottom of your desk drawer.

At Olivia’s, we call this unfortunate lunch occurrence the "Sad Desk Lunch" and it just doesn’t work for us! The key to a good workday lunch is efficiency and preparation, and with Olivia’s Organics pre-washed salad greens, you're halfway there. Here are a few quick hints to help you turn that sad lunch into a happy and healthy lunch every day of the week. And, with our time saving hints, you may have a moment for a side of peace and quiet!

So here they are, your fresh hints for the Happy and Exciting Desk Lunch!
1. Prep! After you’ve completed your grocery shopping, take the time to wash, slice and store your veggies. For your convenience, you do not have to wash Olivia’s organic tender leaf salads. You can just grab them on your way out the door, and when lunchtime rolls around, you can toss them together for a fresh and tasty meal in just minutes.
2. Double Up! Your freezer is your friend. Next time you’re making some black bean and kale burgers, double the batch. Store them in sealed Tupperware in your freezer until ready to eat. You can look forward to a home-cooked meal that you can eat right at your desk!
3. Separate! Keep all your lunch ingredients separate, especially the saucy and the soggy. For example, make a flavorful buttermilk dressing for the week, but only add it to that delicious salad once you’re ready to eat. Or, grab the ingredients for a protein-packed hummus wrap from your fridge in the morning but only combine them when the clock strikes noon.
There you have it – three easy ways to make sure you have a lunch that is an afternoon bright spot each day of the week!
