Winter. Holiday celebrations, warm fires, making snowmen all such great fun! But do you ever find that you feel more tired and sluggish than any other time of the year? Lack of sunlight, lack of vitamin D and messed up sleep cycles all contribute to winter fatigue. Add this to the onslaught of holiday commitments and our innate desire to hibernate on the couch, and it's easy to fall into a winter slump!

But have no fear— winter rejuvenation is here! With just a few simple lifestyle swaps, you're guaranteed to have a more energizing winter season!  

1. Instead of heading to the couch, go for a brisk walk around the block! So often when we’re tired, we want to do … nothing. And sometimes a movie marathon on the couch seems like the perfect answer. But if you really want to get out of the funk, get outside and move! Raising your heart rate revs up those feel-good endorphins and clears your head so you’re ready for whatever is next!
2. Instead of a sugary, fatty or salty snack, try an energy-building treat. Sweets can seem particularly appealing when we’re feeling low on energy, and they do taste good in the moment. What doesn't feel good is that all-too-familiar sugar crash. Next time you’re running low on energy, turn to some savory and protein-rich mini spinach bites or an energy-boosting and tropical spinach and kale pineapple-juice.
3. Instead of committing to every cocktail hour, holiday party and white elephant exchange, try saying "yes" to only the most important events. Maintaining some "me time" to eat right and keep your exercise routine consistent is so important. Balance is everything, so get choosy!
