Help the Community Bike Kitchen
Transition to Our New Space!
After three and a half years in a former classroom in the main Jefferson building, the bike kitchen is transitioning to a former portable classroom just a couple steps away on the Jefferson Community Center campus. We have greatly appreciated being a part of the dynamic happenings at Jefferson Community Center as they continue to renovate the building, expand community classes and offerings, and enhance the recreation and garden facilities throughout the whole site. We are excited to continue to be a part of all the energy in west side Eureka while also having our new entrance at the new bike kitchen space.
Even though we are only moving a couple dozen feet from our old space, we have a lot to do to be ready to be up and running in the new space in early 2017! To get ready for the move, we hosted a successful yard sale this fall which helped over two dozen new people get on bikes. But we still need your help to transition smoothly to the new space.
Please consider a donation to the bike kitchen to help defray the cost of preparing the new space such as constructing new work tables and parts' storage racks. Cash and material donations are tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsorship with local non-profit Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA). Stop by the bike kitchen during open hours to make a donation, or a check can be written to RCAA with "Bike Kitchen" in the memo field and sent to RCAA, 904 G Street, Eureka, CA 95501.

Ongoing Activities at the
Eureka Community Bike Kitchen
Regular Bike Kitchen Open Hours
The Community Bike Kitchen's general open hours are Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jefferson Community Center at 1000 B Street, Eureka.
Women and Trans Open Hours
12-2 p.m. on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of every month! Next Women and Trans Open Hours on Sunday, December 18!
During these hours, the shop is operated by women, trans or genderqueer volunteers, and will be open exclusively to folks who identify as such. This program is a conscious effort to create a safe and welcoming space that encourages more women and gender minorities to learn, share, and participate. By addressing the special needs of certain groups, we hope to create a stronger, more inclusive and diverse biking community overall.
The Bike Kitchen needs volunteers to help to run this program! If you are interested in being involved, learning more about bike mechanics, or already have mechanical skills that you’d like to share, please contact Sage at Dorkus.email@example.com.
