Women and Trans Open Hours

The Eureka Community Bike Kitchen offers Women/Trans day from
12-2 p.m. on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of every month!

During these hours, the shop will be operated by women, trans or genderqueer volunteers, and will be open exclusively to folks who identify as such. This program is a conscious effort to create a safe and welcoming space that encourages more women and gender minorities to learn, share, and participate.
By addressing the special needs of certain groups, we hope to create a stronger, more inclusive and diverse biking community overall.

The Bike Kitchen needs volunteers to help to run this program! If you are interested in being involved, learning more about bike mechanics, or already have mechanical skills that you’d like to share, please contact Jess at Dorkus.malorcus@gmail.com.

Bike Kitchen Member Profile -

For Michael Chandler biking is a necessity, not a choice.  The Eureka Community Bike Kitchen helps keep people like Micheal rolling where he needs to go. "It's a great place to learn how to maintain your bicycle." He encourages others to use the facilities the kitchen has to offer.  "There are also affordable, decent quality bikes and parts available, too."
Michael has been a volunteer at the bike kitchen for over two years. He has gained the knowledge and mechanical skills to maintain his main form of transportation.  We believe that anyone can learn how to work on bikes and that for a lifelong cyclist, it is a fundamental.
