In less than 2 weeks summer break will end and the kiddos will be heading back to school. You probably don't equate auto insurance with going back to school but your auto policy can be extremely important in the event of some common accidents involving children. Did you know that an injury sustained by your child on a school bus could involve your personal auto policy or that a pedestrian or a bicycle injury could involve your auto policy?
We hope you never have to experience these types of incidents, but you should talk to your agent to learn how to best protect your family. Review your auto policy on a regular basis. If you do not carry Uninsured Motorist coverage, you should.
Please drive defensively, obey speed laws, and make safety for our children your utmost concern.

Zika Virus Safety Tips
With Zika on the mind of every Floridian, it is important to protect yourself from the virus and to help stop its spread this summer. Here are some safety tips provided by the CDC to ensure proper protection from mosquitos that can make you sick:
Apply and reapply insect repellent as directed
Only use EPA-registered insect repellents with the following active ingredients: DEET, Picaridin (KBR 3023, Bayrepel, and icaridin), oil of lemon eucalyptus (OLE), para-methane-diol (PMD), and IR3535
Spray all exposed skin with the repellent. If using sunscreen, apply sunscreen first and then the repellent.
Use screens on windows and doors. Repair any holes in the screens to prevent mosquitos from entering your home
Make sure every week to empty, clean or throw out any items outside that can collect water. Still water is the breeding grounds for mosquitos.
Use an outdoor insect spray made to kill mosquitos on your yard.
Plan for travel. Look for travel notices and areas that are currently experiencing outbreaks and try and avoid those areas.
