Babymigo: informing mothers-to-be


Everyday almost a thousand women die from causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Most of them are in developing countries, a lot of them die unnecessary. If they would have had the right information, they wouldn’t have died. Babymigo is a platform that connects mothers-to-be with information, medical experts and other parents. More than 25 thousand questions have been asked, more than 75 thousand answers have been given.

Bitland: prove land ownership with blockchain


In developing countries, a lot of land ownership is unregistered. It’s not uncommon that land get seized or stolen. Who can prove he us the owner? Bitland uses blockchain technology to prove that certain pieces of land belongs to people. Of course that is only possible after the authorities have acknowledged ownership.

BRCK: bring the next 3 billion online


Mark Kamau learned his skills from the internet. He connected to a like minded network thanks to the world wide web. He wants other people to have the same opportunities as he has had. That's why he wants to connect 3 billion people with free internet. One of the products of his company Brck is Moja, a public wifi system financed with ad.

We need to eat less meat. We all know that. But for a lot of meat eaters that's not easy. That's why Impossible Foods developed a plant-based alternative that looks, feels and tastes alike.

Lishtot: safe water


Israelian company Lishtot developed Testdrop, a small device that helps people test drinking water. Is it safe to drink or not? Just hold the Testdrop next to the water and the blue light will say safe or the red one will say don't drink!
