Hello friends of innovation!

As you might know, we look at the world but we operate from the Netherlands. Last week we visited the Accenture Innovation Summit, a yearly event where great innovations are being presented and inspirational talks are being held.
To give you an idea of the companies present, we look at 5 of them in the category 'nutrition'
By the way, the Sustainable Development Goals were everywhere! And that's a good thing.

Sponsh was the winner in the category 'nutrition'. The company produces water from air for irrigation and drinking water.
At low temperatures, the textile of Sponsh absorbs significant amounts of water from air. At high temperatures, the fibers contract and squeeze-out the water like a sponge.

Tasty cricket based food

Alternative food production methods

Riverfood specialises in aquaponics: a closed loop system where plants are grown with the help of fish and bacteria. All that is needed is feeding the fish – they produce waste which is eaten by the bacteria, and the waste that the bacteria produce is food for the plants. The plants are cleaning the water for the fish. Both the plants and the fish are produced pesticide- and antibiotics free for human consumption.

An Electronic Nose Platform

A bit off topic, but these are too nice to keep from you. These nifty little devices are cloud-connected motors. They are called Smartians and can turn “old” devices like a pick-up player into connected devices. And the design is beautiful too.
