... Willie!!

Yes, we finally named our Landcruiser! With help of Anna's sister and her boyfriend. During Easter holidays, we brainstormed a lot. We chose Willie due to two points:
  1. Our Landcruiser is relaxed like Maya, the Bee's best friend Willie. And they look a little bit the same. Don't you think so, too?
  2. During the Jamaica trip in 2014, our beloved Taxi driver was called Willie! He was always there, when we needed him.
This combination was the perfect basis for this decision. And to pretty him up, we put on the new stickers!

New experience as mechanics

The hardest work in the last days, was the repair of the leaking front axle. Thanks to youtube and helpful forums online, we were able to do this on our own. The four days were long and exhausting. The hands (and everything else) were greasy. But after all, we finished the work successfully. At least, until today, there is no weird sound while driving, and we haven't lost a wheel by now. We are more than happy about that!
It was a really interesting new experience for us. The work on the car is so different to the jobs we had. Heiner wore suits almost every day, worked with the laptop and his brain, mostly sitting. Anna's job as pediatrician was more practical - but obviously in a very different way. It was great fun to work on the car, and together as team!
Due to that, we had to neglect the Blog work in the last weeks. We published our third part of the Landcruiser serie. And the fourth one will follow soon! Unfortunately, Heiner is sick these day. Getting prepared for the stomach bugs, that will be certainly visiting us during the trip for several times...

Final sprint

We started to count the days! We don't have an exact departure date. But after our farewell party in two weeks (and Anna's 30th!), we want to start pretty soon. Because of that, we are in the last preparations. Running from office to office, buying the final gear, and installing the last stuff to Willie. In the next week, he will be in the workshop of Keba to get his final check-up.
Have you seen the pictures on Twitter or Facebook of Heiner's most important item in the car?
Of course, we will spend the last days with family and friends. We want to say Goodbye to everyone, until we hit the road in around 16 days!
See you soon!
