The Campaign for North Bay Children's Center

Six years ago, NBCC launched the Bright Futures capital campaign to double our current childcare capacity and replace the badly deteriorating facilities at our main campus in Novato.
While COVID-19 temporarily stalled our project in 2020, it also magnified the structural weaknesses of our nation’s childcare system. Marin and Sonoma County lost more than 60% of its licensed childcare capacity during the past 18 months leaving thousands of working parents stranded --- making the Bright Futures Renovation expansion more important than ever.
We are pleased to report that despite the impact of the pandemic, NBCC has cleared several significant hurdles on the path towards construction and have been humbled by donors who have continued to step up and pledge their support.
This summer, thanks to Assemblymember Marc Levine’s stewardship, NBCC was awarded a $1 million dollar grant from the state bringing our funds raised to date $4,700,000. That combined with our low-interest construction loan gets us within 2 million left to raise for this shovel-ready project.
In a further demonstration of progress, the Bright Futures Renovation expansion’s use permit was issued in August, final design review was approved in October, and we are now in the process of obtaining our building construction permits. With weather permitting, demolition of the old portables could start later this month, and construction site work can begin in the new year!
Once complete NBCC’s new 20k square foot facility will significantly increase our enrollment capacity and house the Garden of Eatin’ Learning Lab that will enable us to reach thousands of educators and children outside of our service areas.

NBCC is incredibly thankful for the support of our North Bay Community! Because of your generosity and the generosity of our incredible sponsors, community impact partners, donors, event attendees and community members, this year’s annual fall fundraiser, A Night in Tuscany, raised more than $430,000 for the children’s sake! We appreciate you for making this event possible. Check out the many wonderful pictures captured this year on Facebook!
NBCC would like to give a special shoutout to our Champion, Community Impact, and Advocate level sponsors. Without them, we could not do what we do for vulnerable children and their families.
