This month we celebrate our teachers and early childhood educators, who have chosen a career nurturing our community’s youngest learners and caring for the children of working parents everywhere! This past year especially has taught us the importance of recognizing these special individuals all year long.
The child care workforce was essential long before the pandemic, and 2020 has highlighted the lengths to which our early educators are willing to go to put children and families on a brighter path. Their role as educators is particularly crucial because they teach children during the most important and formative learning stages.
“Our NBCC teaching staff is amazing,” says Kristina Sisseck, VP of Programs. “Our early childhood educators provide critical early learning experiences that are filled with wonder, curiosity, playfulness, creativity, and opportunity. Walk into any of our classrooms and you will see a culture of learning, health and wellness, growth mindset, and belonging. I am extremely proud and appreciative for each teacher. We are lucky to have them as they are shaping the future of the North Bay.”
During the COVID-19 crisis, our teachers remained on the front lines, providing care to children during challenging times, helping school-age children with technology and distance learning, and following new health and safety guidelines, all while facing the risk of exposure to the virus themselves. As our communities begin re-opening and parents get back to work, help us celebrate our preschool professionals every day and show how much we appreciate all they do for children and families.
