PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD
May 17, 2018 - Board Meeting
Renee Allen-Stallings, Office Administrator, Department of Emergency Services. Renee was the first-ever recipient of an Isle of Wight County Public Service Award. She was selected for a Public Service Award for her initiative regarding review and payment of utility bills of all fire and rescue stations and a Consumer and Consumption tax that was being erroneously assessed.
Due to her efforts, the County has experienced a cost-savings of a credit totaling $14,067 for FY17 and part of FY18 and ongoing savings of $490 per month (or $5,880 per year) on future bills.
The Public Service Award program celebrates recipients who are selected by the County Administrator’s Nomination Review Committee for demonstrating support for the County’s goals and objectives through their ideas, suggestions, and/or actions which result in one or more of the following: improved service delivery, efficiencies, improved safety, cost-savings, enhancement of the County’s image, and/or enhancement of the positive environment for citizens and/or co-workers.
