Congratulations to these 2nd quarter  Isle of Wight County SPOT Award Recipients who were recognized at the 2/15/18 Board Meeting. 

Mrs. Grace Keen lived in Isle of Wight County for more than fifty years and was a retired real estate broker. She was an activist responsible for countless improvements to the quality of life for Isle of Wight Citizens.

 

She was instrumental in advancing causing impacting citizens of all ages, ethnicities, and socio-economic levels.

 

We are all saddened by her untimely passing.  She will be missed by the entire Isle of Wight Community.

 

The Board honored her memory and her family with a resolution at the February 15 meeting.

Dear Citizens,

Budget meetings are in full swing with our County Departments and I have scheduled meetings with our volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments beginning this week.  I will submit a proposed budget to the Board on April 5th.  The Board will begin holding work sessions on the proposed budget in mid-April with the adoption of the budget scheduled for May 10th.

Since our 2017 December Christmas Parade was cancelled due to the weather, we will be holding a St. Patrick's Day Parade this year instead! The parade will proceed down James Street, turn left on Grace Street, left on N. Mason, concluding with a left on Washington Street and back to the line up location on James and Washington Streets.

Artists are invited to submit their original work to participate in Smithfield’s juried Boardwalk HeArt Show. The show will be held on the boardwalk behind the Smithfield Station Shoppes overlooking the Pagan River in scenic historic Smithfield.
