Welcome back to 2017

Welcome back to our first SES newsletter for 2017 - we hope you've had a refreshing break! This month we're welcoming back not only our regular readers, but also new subscribers who've joined us over the new year.

The end of 2016 went out with a bang as we held our final
Data Dialogue event, At War with Data, at King's College London. See below for our coverage of the event, including video and downloadable talks (coming soon), or scroll down to preview our Guest Posts from researchers at Oxford and UCL, who provide insight from a digital health and cyber security perspective.

If you were busy indulging in winter festivities over the holidays and missed what we've been up to, don't worry! In this edition we're keeping you up to speed on recent research case studies, spotlighted equipment, and more.  Be sure not to miss the December special edition addendum to our interview with Dr. Sergey Yurchenko at UCL.

Also this month, we're pleased to present our top 3 case studies of 2016. Sourced from around the consortium, our most read studies reveal the broad range of work and collaboration being undertaken between our member institutions, covering fields of healthcare, quantum physics, and heritage, archaeology and environmental science. A big thank you is offered to all of the researchers and staff involved with putting these together over 2016.

Stay tuned for our March newsletter where we'll be keeping our readers in the loop on upcoming events, or follow us on Twitter for your weekly digest of new research, relevant events, facilities and more.
