We hope everyone is healthy and well as we watch the spread of the Covid-19 continue globally, although China is reporting very few new cases daily. We appreciate that this is a very difficult time for our families and we hope you are engaging in learning conversations with your children on a daily basis.
There has been a significant increase in the number of video chats with students this week which has certainly improved the connection between the teachers and students. This is such an important aspect of school that we can sometimes forget when we are working face to face with students.
The Secondary team met for a virtual staff meeting this week and we shared some of the feelings that are being experienced during this time. One of the common feelings was Proud. This was proud of what the students (your sons and daughters) are managing to learn during this difficult time. The teachers also shared that many students have been very adaptable and flexible during this period. These qualities are ones that will be important for their futures.
This week we continue our focus on ways you can help your child navigate this time. Our Counselors, Ms Brunning and Ms Stafford have been working alongside a range of students around stress and anxiety and shared these tips to help you also support your child in this area.
Last week we invited you to re-enrol or withdraw your child for the 2020-21 school year. Thank you to the hundreds of you that have shared your plans. For those of you who have not had a chance to complete the process, you may do so by clicking here https://geckoportal.sis.org.cn by March 20th. Seats will be saved only for those families that complete the re-enrolment form. Please contact our admissions office at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
