Dear Parents,

Next Monday is Qing Ming and the day honours and pays respect to ancestors and celebrates the warming weather of spring. It's a time for remembering the past with a spirit of celebration that includes space for both reflection and renewal. As a community who comes from all corners of the globe, we’re hopeful Qing Ming symbolizes a positive change and renewal for us all.

(https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guignol).

On Monday, for the celebration of the Francophonie, the FBP had the opportunity to welcome Martin Elsen and his puppet show featuring Guignol. Guignol is a traditional character from French folklore who made children (and adults) laugh for hundreds of years. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guignol).

Le marionnettiste et ses personnages: Guignol et le gendarme.

The puppet master and his characters: Guignol and the policeman.

Les élèves de l’EFIS nous ont rejoint pour cette occasion.

The students from EFIS join us for the event.

Prek1 Unit of Inquiry - How the world works
Curiosity sparks interest in our environment.
This is the main idea that drives the provocations in our Prek1 classes. During the past weeks, our young Geckos have been exploring various materials to inspire thinking and questioning. What happens when you combine materials? How do they change? What do we observe? Sensory investigations include cooking, using magnets, printing on T-shirts, mixing paints, and mixing kitchen ingredients, among others.

At home, use everyday materials to build sensory experiences for your children. Teach them safe ways to smell, touch or taste ingredients. Experiment on how materials can be mixed and make predictions. Discover how materials change. Have fun and play!

RICE BOWL OPERATION
This Wednesday in the Bilingual Program, KG/G1, G2/3 & G4/5 classes followed the lead of our PK class by raising money for the Association Couleurs de Chine who helps children in need in the Guangxi province.

You're wondering how a RICE BOWL can be related to raising money? Let us explain:
In order to donate to children in need, our students decided to save the money that they would usually use to prepare or buy lunch and instead eat plain rice. The money students saved has been donated to Couleurs de Chine and will be used to buy school supplies for the children.

Ignite Delight
This week we want to thank our PSA for organising the ‘Ignite Delight’ Talent Show which included sign ups, auditions and the recording which will happen in about three weeks.  Over 60 variety acts ranging from musicians, dancers to comedians and everything in between had the opportunity to share with a panel of judges and a host of PSA volunteers. Enjoy these photos that capture and Ignite Delight.

Changes to Mountainside Drop Off starting Tuesday 6th April

To improve overall safety for our community, we have made some changes to where our students who have classrooms at Mountainside can be dropped off. Please watch the below video and view the map to better understand the new procedures.

E-bikes and Parking

We encourage you to park your ebikes along this parking area and then walk your children to their meeting points or classrooms. In the interest of improving safety, our goal is to reduce the number of ebikes travelling up to the Mountainside area.
