Communique for all Parents May 8th
Dear SIS Community,
We have now completed a successful first two weeks of on-site learning with our grades 9-11. Next week is an exciting week as we will welcome grades 4, 5, 6 7 and 8 back to the campus. This will be a wonderful injection of energy for our Bayside and Jingshan campus and another step forward toward normality.
We were thrilled to see so many eager students arrive at the school campuses on Wednesday for their Covid-19 testing. We provided this testing service as we are committed to providing a safe environment for all families. It was great to see so many students showing their pride in being part of SIS by wearing their uniform, for even this short return to the school grounds.
Our teachers and other staff are all looking forward to having more of our students back in the campus. All the special cleaning regimes and additional equipment have helped to make sure that the spaces are ready. There will be some training and special instructions for our students that will be new and different from a normal day but these protocols will ensure safety for all.
SIS welcomes that Shenzhen continues to experience city-wide safety from Covid-19 infections. As we all work together we are confident that the city is on the right path to a safe general return to better days. Everyone wants to see schools successful and we continue to have good support from the agencies and authorities as we put together the plans to bring our students back to on-site learning.
I would invite you to follow our WeChat channel SIS Cares. We will be using this channel in addition to The Weekly to share insights about the learning program and return of students to the school.
I would also like to restart some of the other regular features of school life. Although we are still unable to welcome parents back to the campus at the moment we will resume our regular parent information sessions via video link. The first of these will be an invitation to coffee with the Head of School on Wednesday 13th at 10 am. If you would like to join this first coffee session, please email Sherry at firstname.lastname@example.org for an invitation. Keep an eye out for more invitations as we resume our regular Weekly newsletter and activities.
