Family Planning Service Survey

The Family Planning Service has created a survey seeking insights into what kinds of information or content people seek when looking for sexual and reproductive health care or advice. The survey closes 31 March.

GP extended hours at headspace Lismore

headspace Lismore is pleased to announce their GP Dr Rosie Hamilton has extended her clinic hours for young people aged 12-25 from 9.30am-4.00pm on Thursdays.

Tweed Byron Local Area Command Custody and Victim Support Information Day

Community members and service providers in the Tweed and Byron Shires who want to join the trained Tweed Byron Local Area Command Custody and Victim Support team to provide support to vulnerable persons (including youth, aboriginal, disabled, persons suffering mental health issues and culturally and linguistic diverse persons) who are victims, arrested or detained, are invited to join a Custody and Victim Information Day to be held at Tweed Heads Police Station on 18 May 2017 at 9am.

Last-Resort Housing for Homeless More Cost Effective

A landmark Australian report has found it’s cheaper to provide last-resort housing to homeless people than to leave them sleeping rough, Pro Bono News reports.

Almost 40,000 School Children Sought Homelessness Help Last Year

The number of Australian school children seeking help from homelessness services has increased by more than 80 per cent over the past three years, according to new data analysis reported by Pro Bono News.

NCOSS Proposal for Second Phase of Social and Affordable
Housing Fund

NCOSS is now advocating for a second phase of the Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) to get underway soon. Based on feedback NCOSS has received from the first phase, the proposal outlines a plan to fund at least 5000 additional units of social and affordable housing in NSW along with support services that build a truly holistic approach.

Small Grants for Rural Communities

Grants of up to $5,000 are available from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) for projects and activities that offer clear public benefit for communities in rural, regional or remote Australia. Priority is given to communities of 10,000 or fewer. Applications close 5pm Friday, 31 March 2017.

Incubator Event Fund

The government is encouraging organisers of events in rural and regional NSW to apply for a one-off grant of up to $20,000. Applications close on Sunday 2 April 2017.

Endeavour Foundation Endowment Challenge Fund

The Endowment Challenge Fund aims to benefit Australians with a disability, especially people with an intellectual or developmental disability by encouraging quality and innovation in the disability services sector.
