New Vision News
June 21, 2017
Hello, and welcome to New Vision Ministries' newsletter! My husband Timothy and I believe that even though we are all disabled by sin, Jesus Christ enables us to do anything according to His will. Thank you for reading our quarterly letter, and thank you so much for supporting us as we continue to reach out to others.
Our website (www.mynvm.com) is undergoing some major re-design work. My father's good friend Henry Passot and his team are a great help to us. They have added a few great pictures, created a few new webpages, and re-worked the visual design of our website. All these changes should make our site more attractive and easier to read.
We continue to add new devotions every Saturday. We hope you'll be entertained and inspired by our website and our devotions.
Our nursing-home and care-center business, New Vision Entertainment, continues to go well. On several days each month, Timothy and I visit nursing homes in the Maricopa County, AZ area. I play piano, while Tim serves as my emcee and plays the ukelele, a small guitar, during a few songs. Sometimes Tim will also deliver a short Bible message, so that we can minister to the residents. Based on the reactions of residents and staff alike, we're doing a pretty good job!
If you know about any nursing homes in Maricopa County, please let us know about them. If not, we'd really appreciate your prayers for the continued success of New Vision Entertainment. Thank you!
Would you like to join one of Tim's Bible studies? Each weekly study is conducted by telephone on a conference line. A new study takes place on Mondays at 5:30 PM Arizona Time. Our audience currently contains a few people from New York, and we go over what the Bible has to teach us about living the Christian life. Each study session lasts about 1 hour. We are currently in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 3.
Instead of a Bible study, would you rather participate in a prayer meeting? A couple months ago, Tim and I started just such a meeting, which is conducted on Tuesdays at the same time (5:30 Arizona time), using the same conference line. Tim will start off each meeting with a short scripture, and then we'll tell God what we're thankful for and bring our needs to Him in prayer. We hope you'll join us and add your own contributions to these meetings.
If you'd like to join either the Bible study or prayer meeting, please call our conference line number (712-775-7031, meeting ID 607518748). We hope to see you there!
Would you like to become a prayer partner with us? If you'd like to help us pray for others, or you would like to involve your church or another Christian organization in New Vision Ministries, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Call to Prayer
Each quarter, we'll be featuring different people or things in this section, and we encourage you to pray for them. This month we'd like to put the spotlight on a blind evangelist, whom you'll learn about in the following article:
Jesus said that the fields were white unto harvest, but that those who labored were few. Stephanie and I call upon you to become one of those workers. We often forget that when we can’t physically help those in need, we can support others through prayer.
Rather than just providing entertainment, we hope these articles will both enspire and motivate you. NVM is calling for all of us to renew our passion for Jesus by spending time with Him.
The Bible tells us that without His love, our works are totally unprofitable. Here, then, is a sketch about one person who is making a difference. I believe he displays both characteristics that I am talking about.
Like my wife and I, Silas was born blind, but God displayed His strength through this man's physical weakness.
Silas was not raised a Christian. He studied the Koran and became a Muslim evangelist. But God had His hand on Silas. When he was in prayer one day, a light shown around him and he heard a voice saying, “I am Isaiah, who you persecute. I am the way, the truth and the light. No one can pray to God except through Me.”
After a lot of soul searching and dialobue with local Muslim leaders, Silas went to a local Christian, who opened the Bible and read the exact scripture which Isaiah had quoted to him. When Silas heard this, he became a Christian at a great cost. He is now being used powerfully by the Lord, as an evangelist.
I ask you to make this man a prayer priority. There is continuous persecution which we in America know nothing about. I also hope that the life of this man will challenge all of us, so that we will ask God what He would have us do for His Kingdom.
And on that note, our latest newsletter comes to a close. Once again, don't forget to check out our devotions at www.mynvm.com whenever you need some spiritual encouragement.
We would love to hear from you. This is your ministry, and we want you to share with us how we can improve. If you have any questions, please call 507-369-6861, or write to us at email@example.com.
Thank you for reading this!
