It’s Official!
Our Society registration papers arrived late September, so it’s full steam ahead for our first classes in January.

Partners in the Community
Ed and Kate met with Rainer Müller, Chairman, and Louisa Flinn, VP Sales & Marketing, of PARC Retirement Living. At this positive meeting, PARC offered to provide facilities where possible in their three North Shore locations - the Westerleigh Residence, the Summerhill Residence, and the Cedar Springs Residence. All three buildings are superbly equipped with state-of-the-art electronics to enhance our future classes and presentations.

Staff at PARC are currently working to schedule us into their already very busy residences, and we may find that our class schedules are different than in the past. For classes that cannot be accommodated at a PARC facility, we will rent rooms out in the community. While this is a big change, we are very excited to be able to offer our classes at convenient locations, all across the North Shore, and to explore new formats and times.

Help Us to Help You
It has been a busy time for our small group of volunteers to set up this new ElderCollege, and we are working very hard to ensure that you can attend the classes you love, starting in January.

But, we can’t do everything alone. We need more volunteers. Here are the types of jobs that you could help with:
  • Phoning or emailing to find donations from local businesses (we need help right now!)
  • Delivering brochures to libraries and other community locations (in December)
  • Greeting visitors at community events
  • Helping to facilitate classes (starting in January)
  • Helping to develop new courses.
Some jobs are quick and others can take as much time as you want to give. ElderCollege is powered by volunteers and will thrive with your help. Contact us and indicate how you would like to be involved. Volunteer here

No Time to Volunteer?
Why not support ElderCollege with a donation? We have no starting funds so every amount is welcome! Help us take root in the community.

(We welcome gifts of any size, but cannot issue a tax receipt as we are not yet a registered charity.)

We Need Sponsors
Another way you can help is to connect us with local businesses. Perhaps you have business connections, are part of local networks, or have friends or family in business? In exchange for sponsorship support, we can offer promotion opportunities. We have a sponsorship package with all the details. Simply give our email address ( to your contact and we'll take care of the rest.
