From June 2 through 15, the Festival will include three major concerts at Washington College’s Decker Theatre and one at First United Methodist Church — and many smaller performances at venues in Chestertown and Rock Hall.
Repertoire will include Mahler's First Symphony, Beethoven’s Mass in C with the Chester River Chorale, Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez” with NMF guitar mentor Camilo Carrara, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade.” A highlight will be the world premiere of a new work by Brazilian composer Arthur Barbosa, who will conduct the Festival Orchestra on June 14.
