Project Updates

Kenya - East Kanyamamba

The KEK project team is travelling to Kenya this month. The project team hopes to complete the following tasks on this trip: monitor and evaluate the condition of the previously construction water supply system, implement another spring box to protect an existing spring source, and assess the viability of well development within the KEK community. Look forward to an update next month! The KEK Clean Water Program is located near Rongo, Kenya in the East Kanyamamba community (a community of 1600 people). For more information, please contact Laura Byrd at sacprokenya@gmail.com

Panama - Tranquilla Norte

The panama team has been waiting for a response to questions sent to the community about the pipeline realignment they requested. No response has been received yet because they have been busy or gone over the holidays.  The team hopes to have a clear plan moving forward with the pipeline realignment by the end of January.  For more information or any questions,  email Michelle Kolb at michelle55kolb@gmail.com.

Belize - Sarteneja

The Belize team has received approval from National to travel to Sarteneja, after submitting their final pre-trip Outreach Implementation Report. The team is currently preparing for the April 2019 trip, in which efforts will be focused on flood-proofing structures in the most vulnerable areas of the Village. The travel team also hopes to meet with the Belize Ministry of Works to discuss the availability of large equipment and the original technical plan. Sarteneja, Belize is a community of about 3,000 people who suffer major loss from flooding each year. For more information, please contact Mandy Ott at mandyland07@gmail.com.
