“Don’t Count the Days, Make the Days Count”

Welcome to the unofficial start of summer! In April and May, BIGVISION hosted a wide range of events, and introduced new ones that proved to be instant classics, like cake decorating and boxing. This further broadened our mission to help our community be open to new experiences.
BIGVISION continues to discover new ways to find creative and physically demanding activities that, for the past two months, have most certainly given a glimmer of joy and purpose in the lives of our members.
Going back to the classic event from last year, jewelry making was again a huge success, drawing a creative and unique group of individuals, many of whom were trying jewelry making for the first time. The creative nature of our members shined through their completed work. Thanks again to the 92nd Street Y!
With the help of Cake Wars winner, Charlie Tola and NY Cake Academy owner, Lisa Mansour, we learned the art of cake decorating. Little did we know what a fun and creative activity cake decorating could be!
What a blast it was to dance inside the ropes with Pro Boxer Boyd "Rainmaker" Melson at the Mendez Gym. Members learned the basics of the brutal art of the sport and had a blast with this opportunity.
With over 11 years of continuous sobriety, Barry Jay gave BIGVISION a one of a kind workout class at Barry's Bootcamp. Everybody burned through the class and had the opportunity to hear Barry's experience in recovery and how physical exercise has saved his life.
Mark your calendars! We have a lot of exciting events coming up!
2nd ANNUAL BASKETBALL BASH
Mark your calendars for June 23rd for our 2nd Annual Basketball Bash in honor of Isaac’s 26th birthday. Basketball was Isaac’s passion, and we are looking forward to another fun and competitive night!

BIGVISION was created in 2015 to help restore hope and purpose for young adults in recovery in New York City. We provide fun events and productive opportunities in a sober environment, as we strive to eliminate the stigma associated with substance abuse disorder.
