Dear BIGVISION Family,
Our momentum carried us into 2017 as we continued hosting fun and exciting events for our BIGVISION members. We're close to the BIGVISION clubhouse becoming a reality and hope to have more details soon!
In February, we went ice skating in Bryant Park and enjoyed the winter village with friends old and new. We also hit the slopes at Jack Frost Big Boulder in PA - several of us skied for the first time ever! It was a chilly Saturday full of laughter, endorphins and snowy heights.
COOKING WITH FRIENDS
We hosted a Cooking Class at the Institute of Culinary Education with Claire Handleman and Gordon Elliott. We all had a blast spending quality time bonding and cooking as a team making a simple, delicious dinner. The conversation was great and the chocolate mousse was outstanding!
Winner of Chopped, Claire Handleman has had a multitude of experiences in the cooking world. She has spent several months living in South East Asia, working, eating, traveling, and learning Thai cuisine and language. She has also spent the last 7 years cooking in some of NYC’s greatest restaurants such as Jean-Georges, Eleven Madison Park, and Del Posto.
An Australian journalist and producer, Gordon Elliott is the executive producer of The Chew on ABC. He also had his own 90s talk show, The Gordon Elliott Show.
Here's Omar's best #SaltBae impression:
We are continuing our bi-monthly knitting workshop with Laurie Kimmelstiel. Many of us are just learning to knit and with Laurie's help we have now honed our skills and completed the projects we started.
Our Super Bowl Party without the hangover was a big hit! We had over 65 guests rooting on the team of their choice.
February also called for some theater and improv with the talented Bill Williams. Bill is a theater director, teacher and acting coach, leader of creativity workshops and a freelance writer. Having lost his son to an accidental overdose, he also speaks on addiction and breaking its stigma.
Bill showed us techniques through a collection of theater games that resulted in a ton of laughter, community building, and fun.
We hopped on bikes in January for an energizing Spinning Class at the JCC. With a great playlist and even better company, we all sweat out our stress from the day and had an awesome time getting fit.
NEW MEMBER OF THE BIGVISION TEAM
We would like to welcome Alex Hamel as the newest member of the BIGVISION Team! Alex has been a BIGVISION Community member for over a year now and has recently joined us as our Outreach, Social Media and Editorial Assistant. We are happy to have her on board!
In an effort to welcome our newcomers, we are offering a new service called the BIGVISION Ambassador. For anyone hesitant to come to a BIGVISION event alone, they can now meet with one of our BIGVISION Ambassadors beforehand and they can walk in to the event seeing a familiar face!
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a BIGVISION Ambassador, contact Alex at email@example.com.
BIGVISION CLUBHOUSE SEARCH
We're now the hub for sober activities in NYC and are in the process of moving to a bigger location and realizing our dream of the BIGVISION CLUBHOUSE. We're searching for space and feel excited about the prospect of hosting our members in a new location. If you have any leads, ideas, or contacts, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
