Construction 2050: construction stakeholders call to build tomorrow's Europe today
The sustainable Europe of tomorrow cannot be achieved without the construction sector: all the actors in the construction process must be involved for the European Union to respond to its main challenges. That is why, construction stakeholders call upon the European Commission to strengthen the current construction policysetting by creating a new vision for the built environment: “Construction 2050: Building tomorrow’s Europe today”.
EBC Congress 2019: construction SMEs should play a more significant role in public procurement
Organised together with CNA Costruzioni from Italy, EBC dedicated its 2019 Annual Congress to the topic of how to remove barriers for SMEs’ access to Public Procurement. On 21 June in Rome, EBC experts exchanged with the European Commission, academics and construction entrepreneurs on howto allow construction SMEs to play a bigger role in public contracts, given their major role as economic players, but also as agents of social cohesion and integration.
Standardisation: joint declaration by construction products manufacturers & contractors
The construction sector cannot wait until the end of the review process of the Construction Products Regulation by the European Commission. For this reason, construction products manufacturers and contractors are jointly committed to supporting the EC and European Standardisation Organisations to find short-term solutions so that the internal market for construction products can function in an efficient and effective way.
Digitalisation: CONDAP project on digital tools for workplace mentors launches its website
The project partners made significant progress in the development of evidence-based learning outcomes for mentors in construction apprenticeships during a meeting last May in Vilnius.
