City offices closed July 4, trash amnesty follows

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  July 1, 2016

In observance of Independence Day, City of Kansas City, Missouri, offices, including the 311 Call Center, will be closed on Monday, July 4. Trash and recycling will not be picked up that day, and regular pickup times will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week. For example, residents with a Monday trash day will have this service Tuesday, July 5.

The week following the holiday is also a trash amnesty week. From July 5-9 residents may set out up to 15 bags of trash without tags. No hazardous waste, bulky items or leaf and brush will be collected.
