Agua Viva School Graduations

As the Agua Viva School has grown, so has the number of students graduating each year. At the end of October, we had 21 graduates from kindergarten, 13 from elementary school, and 23 from middle school. Graduates who live at the home included Angel, Anthony, Osbely and Saida (elementary school) and David and Katherine (kindergarten). Congratulations to all our graduates! Please pray for them as they continue their education.

Big Smiles, Big Dreams

Rosalinda (11) and Jairo (10) came to Agua Viva back in 2011. When they first arrived they were excited about the prospect of actually having friends, and now they have many. Both have big smiles, but even bigger dreams. Rosalinda would like to be a teacher one day and Jairo wants to be a lawyer. They plan to work hard to achieve these goals. Please continue to keep these two in your prayers, that they would grow closer to the Lord and to each other as they grow up here at the home.

Scholarship Program Graduates

For several years now, the Guatemala Children’s Mission has been helping Agua Viva middle school graduates go on to high school through our financial aid program. (At present, the Agua Viva School goes through middle school). We are proud to announce our first class of graduates from this program.

We have 19 students graduating with certifications in teaching, electronics, architecture, computer technology, and others. Graduating from high school is a huge achievement in Guatemala, and most of our graduates would like to pursue further education in college!

Please pray that our graduates would continue to seek God and that He would bless all their hard work and help them achieve better futures for themselves and their families!

Sharing the Light

The children at Agua Viva recently spent a Sunday morning handing out lightbulbs in our community and sharing how Jesus is the “Light of the World”. Led by Pastor Dave, they shared gospel tracts and offered to pray for people. We thank the Lord for the opportunities God gives to our children. Let’s pray for our young “ambassadors for Christ” in Guatemala.

Field Trip to Mayan Ruins

As part of efforts to teach Guatemalan cultural history, our Agua Viva boys recently visited the Mayan ruins at Mixco Viejo. In addition to learning about Mayan culture, they enjoyed free time to fly kites from the top of some of the ruins.
