Summer Writing Fun

After the excitement of releasing Between Duty and Desire last month, I spent July focused on revising my novel and doing some planning and preliminary drafting work on the next one.

After some serious beach time, I can't wait to dive in to the serious work of drafting, and I have a fun blog series planned to experiment with different exercises and to keep up my motivation. If you're interested in doing some writing of your own or in following along, join me on the blog on August 10th!

It's a Party!

I'm super excited to be participating in the Long and Short Reviews 8th Anniversary Party this year from August 17-28. Love books? Join in the fun! Find new authors and series to fall in love with, and even win cool prizes!

On the iPod

This month I've been reading The Witch Hunter, by Virginia Boecker. It's an interesting blend of fantasy, history, and magic, with a bit of young adult thrown in for good measure. I'm not quite through it yet, but I'm enjoying the ride!
Fun with Lists!

Ah, the heat(wave) of summer and the lure of the beach. But with it comes the big dilemma: how do I fit all my books into my beach bag? Here's my list of beach-reads for this year (largely chosen so I can finish the series or catch up with a favorite author).
  • Ruin and Rising, by Leigh Bardugo
  • Whirlwind Wedding, by Jacquie D'Alessandro
  • Bitterblue, by Kristin Cashore
  • A Lady by Midnight, by Tessa Dare
  • The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy, by Julia Quinn
