Building on the success of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in September 2016, world leaders signed up to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One year on, some good progress on the SDG 2030 Agenda has been made by Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states, businesses, and non-government organizations: they have made assessments of what the 17 goals entail, made commitments, started testing the feasible policy options for prioritizing the implementation, and confirmed their shared roles in delivering these ambitions. ERIA Publishes a Special Issue with the Journal of Energy Policy on Financing Renewable Energy in East Asia

As the main outcome of a one-year research project between 2015 and 2016 on the topic of 'Financing Renewable Energy Investment in East Asian Developing Countries', ERIA published a special issue with the top energy research journal, Energy Policy, in its August 2016 volume. Read more.

Cambodia National Energy Statistics 2016

Insufficient information and inadequate capacity to carry out comprehensive energy planning are identified as the main contributing factors to the current circumstances of the energy sector in Cambodia. In this regard, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Cambodia requested the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to provide support to overcome such technical constraint.
