This year, Big Star and Nick Skelton made their comeback and brilliantly won the individual gold medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro! Dunotaire V, the dam of this colt, is an international showjumping star as well. Ridden by Danielle Goldstein, the only 8-year-old mare was already placed in many international competitions and successfully made her debut on 1.45m-level.

FREDERIK CATTEBEKE AND CAESAR TAKE THE VICTORY IN GRAND PRIX OF LIER

Another Grand Prix-victory for Belgium’s Frederik Cattebeke and Caesar (Lucky Boy x Corland) – sold through Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

The only 9-year-old grey gelding took the win in the CSI2* Grand Prix of Lier. Earlier this season, Cattebeke and Caesar already won the Grand Prix of Hasselt. A successful combination with a bright future ahead of them!

Caesar is bred by Stal de Jonghe and Mister Slot from Enter and was sold to Mister Van Meever from Meerkerk in 2007.

FULL SISTER OF KWPN-RESERVE CHAMPION IERLAND WILL BE SOLD AT PRINSJESDAG

At the KWPN Stallion Show, Ierland caught the eye of many dressage lovers, but his career did not last long. Denmark's Andreas Helgstrand purchased the Vice Champion of the KWPN Stallion Show, but shortly after Ierland deceased after a colic attack. Luckily, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag could add the genes of Ierland to this year's collection anyway: the filly Lanzarote (Dream Boy x Jazz) is the full-sister to Ierland.

Just as the high profile stallion Ierland, Lanzarote is also sired by the foundation sire to be Dream Boy out of the well-known mare Zaragoza, owned by Stoeterij Broere. This daughter of Jazz is again the full-sister of the KWPN-approved stallion Bristol, who competed successfully in dressage with Kirsten Beckers. Nowadays, Dream Boy dominates at both the stallion and mare shows and his first offspring is also breaking through in sports. Ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud, Dream Boy impresses at Small Tour level.

Foal Auction Prinsjesdag added another Dream Boy-related foal to her collection: the filly Luresia WD (Charmeur x Krack C), bred by Willem Dekker, is closely related to Dream Boy. Her great-granddam Iresia is the granddam of the Vivaldi-son Dream Boy. The foundation sire Vivaldi – sire to the three best 6-year-olds in this year's Pavo Cup Final – is well represented in the dressage collection as well. The Johnson-son Lewis Utopia was bred out of the same damline as Vivaldi, the highly interesting filly Latinmusik KL is through sire Le Vivaldi a granddaughter of Vivaldi and the filly La Femme Ter Kwincke carries Vivaldi in the second generation and is a daughter of Grand Prix stallion and top producer Briar.

EMBRYO OF TOP SIRE AGANIX DU SEIGNEUR X FULL SISTER OF OLYMPIC CHAMPION AND LIVING LEGEND BIG STAR

Recently, Big Star and Great Britain’s Nick Skelton brilliantly took home the individual gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. The phenomenon of the Games in London again rose to the occasion in Rio de Janeiro again.Embryoauction.com gives you the opportunity to purchase an embryo by top sire Aganix du Seigneur out of Telysette K – the full sister to Big Star. Take this chance!

Big Star was born in the stables of Cees Klaver and already at an early age, showjumping experts thought Big Star was a phenomenon for the future. The American Olympic rider Laura Kraut – Nick Skelton’s partner – spotted Big Star as a youngster in the Netherlands and without a doubt, they purchased the son of Quick Star. Nick Skelton soon stated the stallion was the best horse he ever sat on and given his list of former mounts like Dollar Girl, Arko III and Carlo this raised great expectations.

Big Star met all the expectations! In 2011, his winning streak already started at the age of 8 and in 2012 he won among others the Grand Prixs of Wellington, Antwerp and Hamburg. At the Olympic Games in London, Big Star was the favorite contender for the gold medal. Finally, he won team gold with the British team, but one knockdown dropped him off of the individual podium. In 2013, Big Star and Nick Skelton continued their successes, winning the prestigious Grand Prixs of Rome and Aachen. Afterwards, Big Star disappeared of the circuit for a while, due to injuries. This year, Nick Skelton managed to get the now 13-year-old stallion back in top form again and in Rio de Janeiro Big Star proved to be a living legend: Skelton and Big Star took home the individual gold medal.

Telysette K – this embryo’s dam – jumped herself at 1.30m-level and carries the foundation sires Quick Star, Nimmerdor and Ramiro in her pedigree. In addition to Big Star, Telysette’s half-sister Belycette K also competes at international level with Poland’s Andrzej Oplatek. Telysette’s dam Jolanda jumped herself at 1.30m-level and is the half-sister to the KWPN-approved stallion Matterhorn. The influential sire Amethist is again the half-brother of Jolanda’s dam Elysette.

The sire of this embryo Aganix du Seigneur is considered to be a foundation sire in the making. He is brilliantly bred with Ogano Sitte x Chellano Z out of the famous damline of Olympic bronze medalist Gute Sitte. Aganix himself jumped at Grand Prix-level with Jos Lansink. He passes on his tremendous scope and his extreme carefulness  to his offspring.

This embryo is on auction till the 4th of September 20.00 hrs.

LET US INTRODUCE TO YOU:     ANOUK DROS

Anouk Dros entered the NVP board in the autumn of 2014 and he has the financial management of the Marketing & Communication department.

“Prinsjesdag National Foal Auction is a good trademark, but how can we further upgrade that brand? That is my role. How can we profile the auction more distinctly, keep our current group of clients and expand it, also across the border? That is a challenge, but one I like”, Anouk Dros explains.

When the foal selections start, Anouk will often come along. “I believe that it is important for the involvement. It is good to maintain contact with the breeders and it is very interesting to see the selection committee at work. I breed myself, showjumping horses. This year (2016) I only have one foal out of the Lottie/Zottie line, but I also bred foals out of the Oberlina line and Holsteiner lineage 275 of which several are doing well in the sport and one stallion is licensed abroad.”
