High Five S (88) is a great-grandson of For Pleasure because of his father Vagabond de la Pomme.

TOP-5 OF WBFSH SIRE RANKING POWERFULLY REPRESENTED IN PRINSJESDAG SHOWJUMPING COLLECTION

With less than a week to go, the sport and breeding world is waiting for Prinsjesdag Foal Auction, the elite auction that has The Power of Performance as point of departure for its selection procedure. It is therefore not surprising that Prinsjesdag presents a unique collection of foals, in which performance in the direct dam’s line is rather the rule than the exception. But also the sires are of exceptional quality. The top-5 of the WBFSH Ranking, Kannan, Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Baloubet du Rouet and For Pleasure, is directly and strongly represented.

We are talking about as many as 22 showjumping foals that are directly related to the top-5 of best producing sires. Combine this with the quality and abundance of performance results in the mares lines and you can imagine what the chances are to score a future topper. Number 90 Vivant Hero, for example, is a Vivald’Ick out of the Diamant daughter Hiamant van ’t Roosacker who is directly related to some six 1,60m level horses. And what to think of the two Quickly de Kreisker products, both grandsons of Diamant via their sire.

The absolute number 1 of the ranking, Kannan, is represented by two direct offspring, but also a grandson with number 2, Cornet being the sire. Another one well worth mentioning in this list is, of course, the Kannan out of the full sister of the former top horse from Jeroen Dubbeldam and Eric van der Vleuten, Utascha (Lux).

In our earlier communications we already extensively dealt with the products of Baloubet and his sons and also the three Cornet Obolensky’s deserve attention. The number 2 of the ranking proved to be very popular at various foal auctions of the last weeks and, considering the qualities of the dams at Prinsjesdag, expectations are very high.

Finally, also For Pleasure is certainly worth mentioning. King Pleasure comes from the powerful mares line of Oklahoma II and half-brother Kartouche goes back to the influential Holsteiner foundation dam Urbine, who stands at the basis of numerous Grand Prix horses, such as Belladonna, but also stallions such as Burggraaf, Acord, Acobat, etc. Two products from Penelope Leprevost’s top horse Vagabond de la Pomme , grandson of For Pleasure, will also be present at Prinsjesdag.
Caesar (56) combines the blood of  number 2 of the WBFSH Ranking Cornet Obolensky and number 1 Kannan.
For Pleasure is in the top-5 of the WBFSH ranking and related to Vagabond de la Pomme.
The list of foals directly related to the top-5 on the WBFSH Sire Ranking is as follows:

Toulon, son of Heartbreaker, has two of his products in the auction.

HEARTBREAKER AND TOULON TOGETHER GOOD FOR 17 PRODUCTS

Sire Heartbreaker and son Toulon are in 6th  and 13th place, respectively, in the WBFSH Sire Ranking 2014. In view of the fact that this is a world-wide ranking, this is an impressive achievement. The impact of their influence in sport and breeding is demonstrated by the large number of direct and indirect products of these two, offered at Prinsjesdag. As many as 17!

Another one that should be mentioned here is, of course, the national champion filly, Korinchidee by Etoulon VDL from breeder Dirk Noordhuis. At the KWPN Horse Days this energetic filly easily won the title. Number 52 by Heartbreaker son Cidane, which was sold last year to Christine Tribble McCrea for a tremendous amount of money, comes from the top-class line of Oklahoma II, in which also produced gold team medal winner Vindicat and a large number of other international top-class horses. Poseidon van de Molendreef is a black colt out of the dam’s line of Toulon, with on his sire’s side also Comme Il Faut by Cornet Obolensky, who descends from Heartbreaker via his dam.

A very special foal is Klarimo by the stallion Clarimo, who comes from the Heartbreaker daughter Valarnike. She jumped at Z-level herself and is a daughter of the 1.60m level mare Audi’s Reflection. The two E-Star products at Prinsjesdag are both from a fantastic Belgian mares line in which sport at the highest level comes as naturally as whinnying.

Toulon has two of his product in the auction, one of which is King Toulon W out of the above described dam’s line of Vindicat from top-class breeder Peter van Wegen in Raalte. Toulon’s sons Etoulon VDL and F-One USA are each responsible for three products, one of these being the striking Kalista. She is a daughter of the 1.50m level mare Larthago who produced 5 licensed stallions and 6 international showjumping horses, of which Harley VDL is possible the best known. Finally, worth mentioning are also the Belgian influences of Heartbreaker son Quasimodo van de Molendreef in the form of number 82 Kosmos W and a product from the reputable Van den Bisschop studfarm by Quickly de Kreisker out of the Heartbreaker daughter Indra van den Bisschop.
Kalista (67) is granddaughter of Toulon through F-One USA, out of the fantastic mare Larthago.
