Local Fried Chicken Sundays
in McClurg

Sewanee Dining is partnering with growers from Rooted Here to serve and promote local chicken every Sunday in the McClurg Dining Hall. Fried chicken, made with chickens that are pasture raised on local farms including: Nature's Wealth in Altamont and Fountain Springs Farm in Morrison,  will be featured each Sunday starting November 8th. Farmers and community members are welcome to attend the launch of this event on November 8th (more details to come). Chef Rick Wright says  "I think it is important that our students understand the importance of purchasing local, how it impacts and benefits them personally, as well as how it impacts and benefits the environment and the community. More than that, I want them to understand the importance of family run farms, and the role they play in sustainable strong communities."
