Get Healthy Book Club
in Monteagle

Barbara Camm of Tracy City has spent many years teaching nutrition classes in Rhode Island and is starting a nutrition based book club. Barbara will be at the market this coming Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 pm to answer questions about the book club. The book club is free and open to the public and it meets at the May Justus Memorial Library in Monteagle from 3:30 to 5 pm on Mondays.

This book club embraces many types of health care and explores the many diets and treatments for attaining good health. We give you information and ways to evaluate it.

We hope that with this information each person will find his or her path to health. Additionally, participants will receive a flyer  each month containing a new health tool. Anyone who would like to receive the flyer and/or join the book club, may do so at: GetHealthyBookClub@outlook.com or by visiting Barbara's table at the market this Tuesday.

The Son and the Starrs in Monteagle has added new treats to the market in time for Christmas. These include Pizzelles (Italian Waffle Cookies), Christmas Tree Meringues, and
Carmel 'N Chocolate Pecan Bars.

Brown's Hollar will offer mid sized collard greens this week.
Darlene also has a new patch of turnip greens that is ready to pick. She also has lip balms and hand lotions made from
essential oils and her beeswax. These are great for dry winter skin and lips and they make great little gifts.

Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (SAWG) Conference

If you are into sustainable farming, this is by far the best conference the southeast has to offer each year (sorry Georgia Organics). It is jam packed with excellent information and many amazing farmers. This year's conference will be in Lexington, KY. There are scholarships available for farmers but the deadline to apply is December 10th! Registration before December 20th is also cheaper. Click here to visit the website and learn more.
