Professional Development Bonus Award Still Accepting Applications

Child Care Resources Inc. is still accepting Professional Development Bonus Award applications. The PD Bonus Award program is funded through NC’s Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge Award. The award is designed to incent and reward a program’s investment in the professional development of its director and staff through the implementation of specific policies and practices and the completion of certain professional development CEUs. 189 Awards have been granted, and there is still time to apply!

2016 CCR&R Institute

We've been reviewing the feedback from last year's institute and looking for ways to make the next one even better! After much planning, we are pleased to announce that the 2016 CCR&R Institute will be held at Pinehurst! The 2016 CCR&R Institute will include an additional half-day of training and additional opportunities for you to network with one another. So, mark your calendar for March 9th & 10th, and plan to meet us there! We'll be in touch soon with more information.

Seventeen Child Care Centers/Homes now designated through the NC Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care Designation

The NC Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is pleased to share that seventeen child care centers have now been designated as breastfeeding-friendly through the NC Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care Designation (NC BFCCD).  Child care facilities earn one gold-starred building block designation for every two steps implemented from The Ten Steps to Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care.  Participating child care centers may receive up to a five-starred building block rating.
On August 3, 2015, the Division of Public Health Nutrition Services Branch (which houses CACFP) released the names of the latest seven centers to achieve the NC Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care Designation.

DCDEE Thanks you for your feedback!

Participation in the eight CCDBG focus groups, and the online survey was excellent. The information gathered is being evaluated and consolidated so that it can be used in the next phase. Find more information about NC's progress on CCDBG on DCDEE's "What's New" page. 

For NC’s Military Children and Families:
Military OneSource

The Non-Medical Counseling Program office is excited to offer a new series of webinars which will be hosted and archived on Military OneSource.  These webinars, which are Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) approved presentations, are presented by subject matter experts and are intended for service members, their families, and military service providers.  Registration is required but the process is very easy and takes less than a minute to complete.

The list of upcoming and archived webinars is located on the Military OneSource website under the social media hub.

SEEK Machines

If you hear from providers that they sent their SEEK machine back but their bank account was still charged they can email or fax a tracking number and a copy of the bank statement to or 405-951-5389.
