Meet Mary Di Marco, the sponsor of the May Friday Night Social event
Mary has over three decades of real estate experience working with property developers, owning and managing rental properties and working as a multi-award-winning property sales agent on the north side of Brisbane.
She is a great listener who understands that the decision to buy or sell, what is in effect a major asset is one that requires much-considered thought and planning.
Her passion for selling real estate has been honed during the past 30 years. She is dedicated to the task at hand and will not rest until she has achieved the best outcome for all concerned.
Mary is also the President of the Hills and Districts Chamber of Commerce.
Contact event organiser Mandy Barker of Message Magnifier with any questions or to discuss future sponsorship opportunities. Phone 0407 765 723.
Men’s Health Matters
Bouncing back from Challenges was a huge success with 85+ men engaged in conversations about men’s health on Thursday 12 May 2022. Our panel, consisting of retired professional footballer, Darius Boyd, radio personality, Ian Skippen and TIACS counsellor, Kurt Everard, was masterfully led by Michael Crutcher. The panel shared awesome insights and strategies with our audience.
It was wonderful to collaborate with the Now Business Network on this event. Together we raised approximately $3600 for RUOK? and TIACS (which funds free counselling for construction workers and those that support them).
Thank you to the committee, panel, volunteers and guests who all contributed to making the night a success.

We have had a very busy social month and May is not yet over! Thank you to Susanne Jones and Mandy Barker for all their hard work in organising the Inaugural Women in Business Gala in the first week of May and Donna Thistlethwaite and her team for the Mental Health event fundraiser the following week. It is so good to return to networking opportunities and socials.
The upcoming events are always advertised on the Events page of the Chamber Website, if you are not able to attend the monthly breakfast and would like to network then consider either a Women in Business lunch or the sponsored Social drinks at the Everton Park hotel. These get togethers provide an opportunity to informally social with existing and potential members.
The Friday night drinks are held every 6 weeks. They are sponsored by a chamber member, this means that you only have to provide your drink and nibbles are provided. If you would like to sponsor an evening contact Mandy Barker, she is the Chair of the committee.
A reminder that the Hills Carnivale is on Saturday 28 May 2022, what promises to be a fun-filled event.
Take the opportunity to meet new members and grow your business networks. I look forward to seeing you at the Social Drinks this evening from 4.30pm at the Everton Park Hotel bistro. Mary
Financial reports for the month ended 30 April 2022.

Master Your Mindset to Master Your Business
The Milestone Marker on the 800k walk to Santiago in Spain.
Mastering YOUR Mindset is the key ingredient when taking on any major project. And let’s face it, owning and succeeding in small business is a major project. It may be called “small” business but when you have one it tends to take up your thinking 24/7.
So how can you Master your Mindset? It’s easy to say and not easy to just do. It is so easy to shift into overwhelm when you have so many roles to fill yourself – marketer, accountant, buyer, negotiator, organiser, employer, managing people, promotions etc. And that doesn’t include having a family or private life.
Take time to isolate the roles your business needs and write them down. Then decide on milestones that you want to reach in your business journey. This was a key when I walked the 800km road to Santiago and it will be to your business journey. Don’t OVERTHINK. FOCUS YOUR BRAINCELLS – they are your biggest ally.
Please consider joining our Chamber of Commerce for this and many more monthly activities as we continue to support both Business and Community to prosper. To join us check out our website www.hillschamber/membership or just register to attend any Chamber Breakfast forums, (generally) 4th Tuesday monthly or the variety of other forums, and all attendees must book via our website.
Any Questions/Queries regarding our Chamber Advocacy or Meet the Candidates committee activities, please contact Brian Battersby via email or his Mobile 0418 878 508.
