President

Mary Di Marco

I hope that everyone has survived the deluge over the past few weeks. It has certainly made me consider learning to swim!

We are mid-way through March and Big Breakfast preparations are underway. A decision was made by the Big Breakfast Planning Committee for the event to become even more relevant for our local businesses and members of our Commerce in Schools programmes.

The Big Breakfast is a little later in the year than we have held it in the past, however we all know that Life is different since 2019 .

So you don’t miss out on a seat do “Save the Date”  the Big Breakfast will be held on Wednesday 19 October 7.00am at Eatons Hill Hotel. The breakfast will be followed by a Schools Career Exposition until 12.30pm .

More details on guest speaker, the format for the Career Expo will be provided at our breakfast meetings over the coming weeks. The idea of a Career Exposition was to combine our schools and businesses and provide pathways which would be mutually beneficial.

We have our Women in Business luncheon on 6 May. Book your table to avoid missing out. Don’t forget to nominate for the Women in Business Awards. Another great way to network and meet like-minded business people.

We are holding a joint Mental Health event with the NOW network, details will be on our website
Remember the breakfast meetings are only one of many ways you can become involved in our Chamber.
I look forward to meeting all of you throughout the year.  Mary

Treasurer

Women in Business Committee

Chair | Susanne Jones

By now you will all be aware of the new date for the Women in Business Award Event, 6 May 2022 – tickets will be available to purchase very soon and we hope to see many of you on the night to celebrate the nominees, finalists and winners on the night!

Nominations close on 1 April, so if you haven’t done already, complete this simple survey to either nominate yourself or another amazing female leader deserving this recognition:

We have been sharing the event across many media channels and invite cross-sharing for even greater exposure. Needless to say that we also now have the support of the Morton Bay Regional Council and we are super excited to have had Moreton Daily sharing the event digitally. You can find the related article here. Thank you to those of you who have assisted us in the promotion :).

Please find above information on sponsorship opportunities for the event. We have decided to keep things simple for this inaugural awards event without disregarding value for money of course. For you to get behind this means a lot to all those fabulous business leaders within the Chamber and in our local communities, and it will provide you with an affordable opportunity to position your business while showing your support.

Looking forward to clinking those champagne flutes on the night!  Susanne
