End of April Greetings to YOU!

I wanted to extend my support as we all try to adjust to this new way of working….

  1. First of all, I’d like to offer you an hour of free work --- to enliven your communications out to your clients. Could you use a drawing of a model? A template you want to share for self-guided reflection? A process diagram to show how you’ll be working remotely moving forward? Or just an abstract image of art to enliven one of your communications? You can scan my Instagram for ideas. Reach out and let me know!

  1. Secondly, I’ve been checking into an app called Mural. It’s an online space for collaboration; a giant whiteboard that groups work on together. If participants use the mural app while also in a Zoom meeting, it can approximate an in-person session. People can write, move and arrange sticky notes, and –– like sharing a Google Doc –– everything that’s created within the app gets updated in real time. Click here for a 1.5 min video overview of the app, and click here to download a PDF of of a mural board I created. This PDF is just a static image, but it shows how the mural board might look if integrated with graphic facilitation work. It takes a bit of practice for participants to get comfortable navigating in Mural, but it would be worth it for teams that want to invest in a remote way to collaborate visually.

  1. Finally, let me know if I can support you as a “remote digital graphic recorder”. In an online meeting, I connect my iPad and create notes in a drawing app. I can share my screen so participants can see what I’m drawing as I’m doing it, or we can send the notes during breaks, or at the end of the session. I’m also looking into setting up a camera in my home office, for drawing on paper in a Zoom meeting as well. More on that later!

   Stay well and healthy!

      Warmly,
      Emily

(P.S.) I’m super happy that I got quoted in this online edition of Fast Company, in an article about the importance of making art! They also linked to my YouTube channel to show the video of drawing the horizontal lines, included in my last newsletter. So –– you heard it here first!
