The other day I was reflecting on the myth that people who can draw are “born with it”!
You know what I’m talking about – it’s that assumption that you either have “the gift” – or you’re out of luck!
This is unfortunate – it sets up a deep chasm between people who would like to draw – but don’t feel like they have what it takes. The good news is: you absolutely have what it takes, because drawing is a teachable skill.
Here’s your first lesson: Print out this image, and draw a couple of thick horizontal lines to build a bridge across the chasm! (Add a railing if you have a fear of heights.)
