SAVE THE DATE: The EASPD Conference 2018 "Social Economy as an Effective Model for Social Inclusion" will be in Varna, Bulgaria on the 14-15 June 2018 (Project Development Workshop: 13 June; General Assembly: 16 June).
It will be co-hosted by EASPD, the Bulgarian Presidency to the EU and the National Alliance of Social Responsibility (NASO). Mark it in your agenda!



On March 13 2018, EASPD together with the Centre for Planning and Evaluation of Social Services (ZPE) at the University of Siegen will be hosting a Joint Research Forum 2018 of the "European research platform for inclusive community planning and service development for people with disabilities (EURECO).

Co-production: Working together to create inclusive employment opportunities!
On Tuesday 30 January, EASPD and its partners in the Taskforce “Support Services of Tomorrow” (EDF, COFACE Families-Europe, ENIL, Inclusion Europe and MHE-SME) co-hosted the event ‘Co-producing employment initiatives for young persons with disabilities and mental health problems’ alongside MEP Brando Benifei.

EU needs to boost social infrastructure investment, new report says

On the 23 January, the High-Level Taskforce on Investing in Social Infrastructure in Europe presented their report on how to boost investment in healthcare, long-term care, education and social housing in the European Union. Highlighting important underinvestment in these areas, the high-level taskforce led by former President of the European Commission Romano Prodi recommends practical steps the European Union and relevant stakeholders should take to meet the funding gap.

New measures to boost key competencies and digital skills, as well as the European dimension of education

 To follow up on the Gothenburg Summit, the European Commission has today adopted new initiatives to improve key competencies and digital skills of European citizens, to promote common values and pupils' awareness of the functioning of the European Union. They are intended to reduce socio-economic inequalities, whilst sustaining competitiveness in order to build a more united, stronger and more democratic Europe.

Kehitysvammaliitto is organising a training event on developing personal budgeting in one's home country on 15 February 2018 in Helsinki, Finland. The training will be conducted by CEO Christy Lynch and several other Finnish experts.
