Cement Tile's Floral Pattern and Tropical Colors Get the Party Started for Cuban Restaurant Media Noche
When a San Francisco designer, Hannah Collins at Hannah Collins Design, was charged with bringing a new, fast-and-casual Cuban restaurant to life, she started by searching old Cuban designs. Not surprising, the search lead to encaustic cement tile. She was drawn to a Classic Cuban floral pattern in striking pink and green. The restaurant owner loved the choice; but, the tile wasn't anywhere to be found.
Hannah's design team reached out to Avente Tile with questions. Can you create this tile? Cab you customize the colors? How long will it take? Avente has been providing custom flooring to designers and architects for over a decade So, yes, we can do this! However, the schedule for delivery would be tight because both the mold for the pattern and custom colors had to be made before the order could begin.
Avente was pleased to work with the designers and meet the delivery schedule. The tile choice was a good one because it's a draw for customers and honors the cuisine. Additionally, the tile provides a tribute to the heyday of Cuba's bold designs–a time when it was the island playground for the wealthy and Hollywood's elite. If you are in San Francisco, stop by Media Noche and enjoy a roasted pork sandwich and the tiles!
