It's 2015.  Mary and Joseph need a safe place for them and their new baby: a place to be welcomed without judgement or shame, where they can get a bite to eat and some guidance in their search for a home ...

At St. Matthews Maryland there is always room in the inn.

Uppity Women

As part of the "We Will Wear What We Want" Campaign to draw attention to issues of Gender Violence women in the drop in joined ranks to tell the world, "You can't tell us what to wear", posting their picture through 1JustCity.  Unfortunately, the audio portion of the moment wasn't captured as women whistled and shouted their energy for declaring themselves as persons!  Way to go sisters.

Growing Kids Well

Wrapping up the 10 week parenting program for women with pre-schoolers, Robyn Andrews, Program Coordinator reflected, "Healthy families are the foundation for a healthy community. If children get a good start they can end well.  Moms want to be successful and we can help with that." Plans are in the making for another intake in the new year with funding from Sturgeon Creek United Church Foundation.  (This intake was funded by Communities4Families.)
