Navigator's Log: April 2016

From the Bridge:

Security is Serious Stuff
By now I assume everyone knows that I am not the technical guru of SouthTech.  I am blessed to be surrounded by computer, network and voice experts that speak their own languages which is often foreign to me.  But the one thing I hear more from all of these experts is about security.  The attacks are becoming more targeted, more sophisticated and more direct.

From the Engine Room:

The Nigerian Prince

Just about everyone is familiar with the old email scam of the Nigerian Prince. The poor guy had all his assets frozen and desperately needs your assistance through the use of your bank account to his money back. And of course you'll be greatly rewarded!

From the Operations Control Center:

3 Commonly Asked Questions From Clients & We Have Answers!
1. What are the hours of operation for the Client Care Team at SouthTech?
2. Are there additional charges associated with engaging SouthTech after-hours support staff?
3. If I have an after-hours system, network, or Star2Star phone system issue that will prevent my business continuity, what can i expect from SouthTech to get this resolved?

From the Promenade Deck:

Still think Skype is just for an occasional video chat with Grandma? Think Again!
Skype and Lync are now part of Skype for Business.  This single secure platform allows your company to present and attend meetings like never before.  Anyone, anywhere on any device can seamlessly join, share content and ideas while being ensuring security and quality is the number one priority.
