Dear <<First Name>>
Sedgemoor - Suspicious Activity in Mark.
Avon and Somerset Police have been advised that yesterday a property in Mark has been subject of suspicious activity by 3 men claiming to have lost a mobile telephone. Upon their arrival they claimed, following an evening’s entertainment, they had inadvertently lost the mobile and it was "Tracking" to the location. The resident permitted them to conduct a short search of the grounds, however this progressed to within the property.

The resident asked for contact details should the mobile be found but they declined to provide these raising suspicions, they left shortly after. Similar incidents have since been noted in Devon.

Do please remain aware and never allow anyone you do not know inside your property to conduct any kind of search.

From the ‘Which’ magazine scam alert service - Fake Marketing Surveys
Fake marketing surveys promising gift cards of up to £100 for filling them out are impersonating the likes of ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco. Back in June we covered a fake email purporting to be from Sainsbury’s promising a £90 ‘promo reward’ for taking part in a marketing survey. Sainsbury’s confirmed it was nothing to do with it.

Since then we’ve been made aware that these emails haven’t stopped at just one supermarket – fraudsters are using the same tactics by posing as the UK’s most well-known shops in order to gain your trust and send you on to potentially dangerous websites. We’ve seen examples of fake emails posing as ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco and have made each of them aware.

The Asda emails are designed to make you follow the link by promising a large reward in return for doing very little – a common phishing tactic. Using the same tactics, there are fake Tesco and Morrisons version promising a £90 reward.

A Morrisons spokesperson said:
“These social media posts are designed by third-parties posting as Morrisons, for the purpose of fraudulent activity. Please do not click any links, open attachments or enter personal information. This is not a genuine post from Morrisons.”
